People have been buying and selling produce in markets for thousands of years - since long before shops existed. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work on a market stall? It would certainly be very different to working in a shop. You can't simply scan a barcode and add everything up on a till. Your customers tell you what they want and you have to weigh it, put it in a bag and add the prices up in your head. The hustle & bustle of market life means that there are plenty of distractions too: crowds of customers weaving their way through the maze of stalls, the shouts and cries of the other stallholders and the strong smell of fresh produce - fruit, flowers and fish! To see if you've got what it takes, play our "Fruit & Veg" game. To find out more about markets and learn some
great maths tips, visit Nicole in the BrainBox
