Who were the first human-like creatures?
|
A human-like creature that we call Australopithecus, meaning 'southern ape', lived in Africa from about 4 million years ago. These creatures were similar enough to humans to be thought of as closely related to us, and they are known as hominids. A trail of fossil footprints was found in Africa, showing that Australopithecus walked upright on two legs. | Groups of Australopithecus travelled across open country in parts of Africa. |
