What is the taiga?
|
| A pine tree | The taiga is a huge belt of forest that stretches right across the northern part of this region, from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific coast of Siberia. It contains evergreen trees, such as fir, pine, and larch. The taiga is very cold during the long, dark winters, while summers are short and usually cool.
