Which is the longest South American river?
|
The Amazon is the longest river in South America and the second longest in the world, after the Nile. It begins high in the Andes, and flows for 4,040 miles (6,500 km) across Brazil to the Atlantic Ocean. A fifth of all the world's river water flows down it.
