What is an articulated truck?
|
An articulated truck has two main parts. At the front is a tractor unit, carrying the engine and the driver. The tractor pulls a trailer, which usually has wheels only at the rear. The two parts are pivoted together, or articulated, to make it easier to steer the long vehicle around corners. Different types of trailers are designed to carry different types of loads. | A large tanker is divided into sections inside to stop the contents from sloshing about dangerously. |
