How can we find out about ancient cities?
|
Archaeologists dig up the ruins of ancient cities. They divide the site where the city once stood into squares. Each square is given a number. The archaeologists remember the original position of anything they discover by noting the number of the square they find it in. In this way, they can build up a picture of what the city once looked like.
