What was the Neolithic?
This was a period in pre-history (a period where we have no written documents) during which agriculture became a way of life. People grew crops of wheat and barley and kept domestic cattle and sheep. Villages were few and scattered, and people rarely travelled more than a few days' walk from home. The Neolithic lasted from about 9000 BC to 3000 BC.
