Which bird is the pirate of the air?
|
Frigatebirds are large seabirds that live in the tropics. Instead of catching their own food, they behave like pirates toward other birds. When a frigatebird sees a bird such as a booby returning from a fishing trip, it chases it. It pulls the victim's tail and wings until it drops its food. The frigatebird then catches the fish in mid-air.
