How does a laser work?
|
Light is normally composed of different wavelengths (colours) mixed at random. A laser produces an intense beam of high-energy light in which all the light is of the same wavelength. The process is started by an electric current or a flash of light from a flash tube, which causes a gas or ruby rod to send out the laser beam.
