How does a lifeboat work?
|
When a distress message is received, a lifeboat is quickly on its way. It may be launched from a carriage, down a slipway, or from a permanent mooring that the crew reaches by small boat. Lifeboats are designed to operate in rough seas. Most can turn themselves the right way up if they capsize.
