Richard Wagner
The longest of commonly performed operas is Die Meistersinger von Nüremberg by Richard Wagner who, it is said, used to compose wearing fancy dress.

In 1985, with equipment of his own invention, British eccentric Rory Blackwell from Devon played 108 different instruments simultaneously.

The Italian castrato, Farinelli, could sing 8 notes above the normal human register.
