Pollution contributes to the damage of the ozone layer
In the stratosphere, the second-lowest layer of the atmosphere, there is a thin layer rich in a kind of oxygen, called ozone. This absorbs much of the harmful radiation of the Sun, but it is being broken down by gases, produced by industry and volcanoes.
