Who discovered DNA's structure?
|
The letters DNA stand for deoxyribonucleic acid. This is a chemical substance that is found in all living things. The information that controls the way plants, animals, and humans look and how their bodies work is passed from each generation to the next in DNA. Two scientists working in England, called Francis Crick and James Watson, worked out the structure of DNA in 1953. They built a model of the DNA molecule to show how it divides to form two identical copies of itself, passing the characteristics of the parents to their offspring. | DNA |
