Who are the Tuareg?
|
The people north of the Sahara are relatives of Middle Eastern people. They can be divided into three main groups: the Berbers, the Egyptians, and the Cushites of the Red Sea Coast. One group related to the Berbers is the Tuareg. Traditionally they lived in the west and central Sahara Desert in hand-woven tents, and herded goats. Today many Tuareg live in towns. | An early village settlement in Chad |
