What is a mummy?
|
A mummy is a body that has been preserved so that it will last forever. The ancient Egyptians believed that if a person's body was preserved, he or she would continue living in the next world. When a king died, surgeons cut open the body, removed the organs, and dried the body and preserved it with oils. It was then wrapped in bandages and placed in a coffin. | The process of mummification |
