Who was the greatest general of the Greek world?
In 336 BC King Alexander of Macedonia, a kingdom north of Greece, conquered all the Greek cities except Sparta. He united them and led them to war against Persia. Over the next 10 years he conquered almost the entire known world, from Europe to India, and was considered to be the world's greatest general: Alexander the Great.
Indian troops in the Punjab used elephants against Alexander's army in 326 B.C. Alexander dreamed of conquering all of India, but his troops rebelled and forced him to go home.
