What was the Indus Valley civilisation?
|
India's first major civilisation flourished for 1,000 years from about 2500 BC along the Indus Valley. Its great cities, Mohenjodaro and Harappa, were ruled by priests rather than kings. It is thought that the cities were eventually abandoned because of environmental changes. | India |
