Who was Jethro Tull?
Jethro Tull was an English agriculturist. In 1701 he developed a drill that mechanically sowed seeds. He contributed to the Agricultural Revolution, which enabled farmers to produce food more cheaply and efficiently. New machines, better crops, and special animal breeding all helped revolutionise farming methods in the 18th century.
One of the new farming inventions was the seed drill, which planted grain seeds much more quickly than a person could by hand.
