Who were the Seljuks?
|
This Turkish dynasty controlled most of Central Asia and Iraq from the 11th to the 13th centuries. Two of their great capitals were Isfahan and Baghdad. In Iraq they assumed the title of Sultan, or sovereign of a Muslim territory.
