What happened at Pearl Harbour?
On December 7, 1941, Japanese planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbour, Hawaii. Five U.S. battleships were sunk or crippled, another 14 warships were hit, and over 2,000 naval officers and men were killed. Following this attack, America joined the Allies in the Second World War.
