Who was Adolf Hitler?
In 1933, a Fascist leader named Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. He wanted to make the country powerful again. He built up the army throughout the 1930s and led the country to war in 1939. He set up concentration camps to exterminate Jews and other groups of people. When Germany was defeated in 1945, he committed suicide.
