Where do giant pandas come from?
Pandas live only in the forests of the Sichuan province of China. They spend most of their waking hours eating. About 99 percent of a giant panda's diet is made up of bamboo, and it cannot survive without this food. They feed on different parts of the bamboo plant, which is a type of giant grass, at different times of the year.
A giant panda can eat up to 18 kg. of bamboo a day.
