The duck-billed platypus
Australia is famous for having a number of animals that live nowhere else in the world. The honey possum is a small, shrew-like animal that uses its long tail to grip onto branches. The duck-billed platypus is a mammal, but is unusual in that it lays eggs. The kangaroo is a marsupial, which means that the females carry their new-born young in a pouch.
