How do we move?
Muscles make the body move. Blood carries oxygen to our muscles through arteries.
Muscles make the body move. Blood carries oxygen to our muscles through arteries.
All the body's movements, from blinking or smiling to running and jumping, are made by muscles. Muscles move our bones, to which they are connected by tendons, by contracting or becoming shorter. They need energy to work, and this is supplied by oxygen and nutrients in the blood. The human body has about 620 muscles, and they are all controlled by the body's nervous system.
