What are the Great Lakes?
The Great Lakes are five large lakes in North America, four of which - Superior, Huron, Erie, and Ontario - lie on the border between the United States and Canada. The fifth, Lake Michigan, lies totally within the United States. Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world.
