What is Buddhism?
Buddhism is one of the world's major religions. It is based on the teachings of an Indian prince who gave up his riches and became a religious teacher. He lived over 2,500 years ago and was known as the Buddha, or Enlightened One. He founded the Buddhist order of monks and his teachings soon spread throughout Asia.
