How fast can an ostrich run?
Related Image
Several birds have lost the ability to fly altogether. For example, the New Zealand kiwi escapes hunters by hiding in undergrowth, and the African ostrich simply runs away very fast. The ostrich is the largest bird of all, at 3 metres tall. Its long legs and powerful muscles enable it to run at speeds of up to 43 mph (70 kph).
