Why should you look at a dinosaur's hips?
There are two main types of dinosaur. Dinosaurs like the long-necked Diplodocus and the fierce Tyrannosaurus are called saurischians. Dinosaurs like the three-horned Triceratops are called ornithischians. The difference between the two groups is in the arrangement of their hip bones. Saurischians have one hip bone pointing backward and one pointing forward. Ornithischians have both bones pointing backward.
