What is a habitat?
A habitat is the name given to the particular type of environment in which a species lives. So, for example, the habitat of a limpet is the seashore, while the habitat of a woodpecker is woodland. There is a wide range of habitats found throughout the world. The appearance of each one is affected by physical factors such as climate, soil type, and rainfall, as well as by the plants and animals that live there.
