Which fish needs a beak?
|
Fish feed on many different types of food. Sharks have rows of razor-sharp, backward-pointing teeth with which to kill their prey. Manta rays have a filter that allows them to sieve tiny creatures from the seawater as they swim along. The parrot fish has a tough, beak-like mouth that it uses to break off bits of coral. The parrot fish grinds up the coral to get at the tiny coral animals inside. | The parrot fish has a mouth designed for breaking off and chewing coral. |
