How do flying insects move their wings?
|
A flying insect moves its wings using muscles inside its body. The muscles are attached to the base of the wing at one end and to the inside of the insect's hard outer body casing at the other. By using several sets of muscles, the wings can be moved up and down to enable the insect to fly. Muscles also make the wings twist for changing direction.
