Why does a leopard have close-set eyes?
If you look at a leopard head-on, you can see that its eyes are set close together on the front of its head. The hare, on the other hand, has eyes that are spaced far apart on either side of its head. A hunter like the leopard needs both eyes at the front so that it can judge the distance of its prey. An animal that is hunted by others, like the hare, needs eyes on the sides of its head so that it can spot danger approaching from any direction.
Leopards feed on animals of all sizes, from rats to antelopes.
