Are dogs and wolves related?
Although they may often look very different, wolves are thought to be the ancestors of domestic dogs. Thousands of years ago, humans started to keep wolves for companionship and for guarding duties. Each time wolves were bred in captivity, their offspring behaved less like wolves and more like the dogs of today. They also became less aggressive and more dependent on humans.
Although related, wolves and toy dogs look completely different.
