Which cattle breeds are best for hot climates?
|
Many breeds of cattle do not like hot climates and only thrive in areas with cool summers. Two breeds are, however, perfectly suited to warmer regions. The Santa Gertrudis is a stocky breed with short horns. It is farmed for beef and is popular in Texas. The Kankrej is common in India and is used mainly for pulling loads. It has a large hump and long horns.![Santa Gertrudis and Kankrej cattle both thrive in hot climates.](../../../images/qa2c03f115.jpg) | Santa Gertrudis and Kankrej cattle both thrive in hot climates. |
