What are cereals?
Cereals are members of the grass family. They are grown for their grain, or seed, which is used to feed people all over the world. Wheat is the most common cereal plant; its grain is used to make bread and pasta. Rice and millet are important in developing countries, where they are eaten by millions of people. Maize, or corn, is also popular, and is fed to animals as well as eaten by people.
