How are fungi different from plants?
Almost all plants are able to make their own food from sunlight energy, water, and a gas found in air called carbon dioxide. Fungi are different. They get their food from decaying or sometimes living plants or animals. The food is digested outside the body of the fungus and then absorbed through a network of tiny, root-like threads.
