What is inside an earthworm's body?
|
An earthworm's body is made up of compartments called segments. The segments are filled with a fluid that the earthworm's muscles push against to enable it to move. The intestine and nervous system run the length of the body. Its brain, five hearts, and reproductive organs are found near the front of the body. | An earthworm burrows through the soil by extending the front part of its body and pulling the rest up behind it. |
