How does a cone shell hunt?
Most molluscs, like snails or the creatures that live inside sea shells, are not active carnivores. They feed by scraping tiny plants off the rock surface or by sieving microscopic organisms out of the seawater. The cone shell is an exception. It has a long, projecting spine with a sting on the end. With this it can kill and feed off fish.
The cone shell is capable of catching and eating fish.
