How fast can plants grow?

Seaweed
Giant kelp seaweed can grow as much as 45 cm in a single day, while some kinds of bamboo can grow 1 metre in a similar time. The Russian vine is often called 'the mile-a-minute plant'. Although it is a fast grower, it can only manage 1 metre in a week.
