How fast can Concorde fly?
Concorde is the fastest passenger airliner in the world. Its top speed is 1,354 mph (2,179 kph), over twice the speed of sound. When carrying passengers, it usually averages about 1,180 mph (1,900 kph), crossing the Atlantic in less than three hours.
During flight, Concorde's nose is raised to reduce air resistance, but when landing the nose drops so the pilot can see the ground.
