How are car bodies made?
|
Early cars were made by building a body on a separate frame or chassis. This method continued until the 1950s, when one-piece, or monocoque, construction was introduced. The car body is a complete 'shell', made by welding together pressed steel plates. The other parts are then attached to the body shell. | A modern car showing safety features |
