What is a magnetic field?
|
A magnetic field is the space around a magnet in which the magnet's force can be detected. The field can be represented as lines of force. The lines link a magnet's north pole at one end, and its south pole at the other end. North and south poles attract each other. Poles of the same type (two north poles or two south poles) repel each other. | Lines of force between the poles of magnets trace out the magnetic fields. |
