How is solar power used?
Solar power is used to generate electricity in a photo-electric, or solar, cell. The electricity can be used in various ways. The large 'wings' of a satellite are panels of solar cells. They provide the electricity to power the craft's instruments. A more down-to-earth use is a solar-powered bike. Solar cells generate enough electricity to work an electric motor, which in turn gives the bike power.
Solar power can be used to generate enough electricity to drive an electric motor in a bicycle.
