What is fish farming?
|
Fish farming is the raising of fish for food. Parts of a lake or river are closed off with nets, and young fish are introduced into the water. They are fed daily and quickly grow. Many salmon and trout are produced in this way in temperate regions. In Asia, fish are sometimes raised in flooded paddy fields.
