When was the first bicycle made?

The first bicycle was made in 1818 by Baron von Drais. Called a hobby horse, it was propelled by pushing it along with the feet! The first pedal cycle was built by Kirkpatrick MacMillan in 1839, and improved by the Michaux brothers in France in 1861.
