What is the record speed for a train?
The world speed record for a steam train is 126 mph (202.7 kph). It was set by the Mallard in 1938 and still stands. The overall world rail speed record was set in 1990 by a French high-speed TGV electric train. It reached a speed of 320 mph (515.3 kph).
