The fastest train running a regular daily service is the Eurostar, which runs from London to Paris and Brussels through the Channel Tunnel. It regularly reaches 186 mph (299 kph) in France. Each train is made up of 18 coaches, with an electric power car at each end; it measures 394 metres in length. The power supply is drawn from overhead wires in France and Belgium, and in Britain current is supplied via a third rail.
