What is a space probe?
|
A space probe is an unmanned spacecraft that travels through space to explore planets and moons. Probes carry cameras and scientific instruments. These measure such things as magnetic fields, X-rays and other cosmic radiation. Space probes have sent back vast amounts of information about the Sun, the planets and their moons. Astronomers have found out far more than they could have by using telescopes alone. | The space probe Voyager 2 |
