Why does Hubble need to be in space?
|
Telescopes on Earth look at space through the atmosphere, which contains dust, moisture and air currents. It is like looking through an uneven, dirty window. From outside the atmosphere, Hubble can see 50 times farther than telescopes on Earth. | Stars and shining clouds of gas and dust fill the night sky. Those shown here are within the constellation of Orion. |
