Do space probes return to Earth?
|
|
Space probes are not designed to return to Earth. Some orbit other planets, taking photographs. They will carry on orbiting their planets forever. Others make 'fly-bys' of planets without going into orbit. Some, such as Voyager 2, are heading out of the solar system and into deep space. Both Pioneer 10 and Voyager 2 are carrying messages from Earth in case they are ever found by other intelligent beings.
